After I finished Merlie's tapestry, I took a break from bead weaving on the loom. Then I started a new project on my loom. It's this pattern:
It's from a picture I took in Rome in 2008. It's a manageable 9" by 9", so I'm not worried about finishing it.
This is what it looks like now:
And then there is the Red Victorian Lady. According to the photos I have, I haven't worked on her since Nov 2011.
She's a huge project and it takes at least an hour to do one row if I don't make mistakes. I am determined to finish her. The question is when.
Generally speaking after 10 hrs at work, I don't have time to quilt or sew when I get home. But, I do have time to work on a row or two from these two projects and work a little on my beaded embroidered cuffs. Those are going to be my projects during the week and I'll sew on the weekends.

FINISHED!
Well, it's a little behind schedule, but it's finished! Merlie is now immortalized in beads!
I'm going to back it with felt and sew it on to a piece of coordinating fabric with batting behind it. Then I'll find a frame to put it all in.
And here he is:

Two Updates
My first update of the new year!
Merlie's tapestry is going very well. I have just 36 more rows to go. I plan to finish it by the end of the month. You can see just the beginning of his eyes. I'm really pleased with how well it is turning out. I am making a few tweaks as I go, but really the pattern came out so well, I don't need to do many tweaks.
And I have worked a bit on my Red Victorian Lady. She's taking a back seat while I finish up Merlie's tapestry. But, once Merlie is finished, I'm going to work on her more. It's unrealistic to thing I'll get her done in less than another year or year and half. I still have 254 rows to go.

Beadie Update
Probably my last update for 2011! Boy, time does fly!
Finished an embroidered cuff which I really, really love and which has made it's way into my considerable collection of embroidered cuffs. I haven't been able to relinquish any for sale yet. I've given my mom several, but no one else has one. I put so much time and imagination into them, I can see anyone else wearing them.
Here's my latest:
I love the focal piece and just had to use it. I added my own glass cabochons and a bunch of beads from light lavender to dark sparkly purple.
And I finished these bracelets. They are plated blanks that have Swarovski crystal rhinestones glued into them. Easy, not too much imagination, but pretty.
I don't plan to have anymore updates for a couple of weeks. Happy New Year!
