New Pattern on The Beaded Cat!

Continuing to feed my need for Art Deco women's patterns, I made another pattern featuring a beauty getting ready for a night on the town.

This pattern is available as an instant download for either LOOM or THREE DROP PEYOTE.

Most bead weavers are familiar with peyote stitch, and even two-drop peyote.  If you have never tried three-drop peyote, you really should.  It's even more supple than two-drop peyote and quick to work up.

This is one of the pieces that I've done in three drop.  I like it better than the loom version.

Digitization of The Beaded Cat Continues

Digitization of The Bead Cat on Etsy is continuing.  It really takes quite a bit of time, but I am checking every pattern to make sure patterns are up to date and available in all the stitches advertised. I think I'm on page 4 of 7 pages of patterns.

The Beaded Cat Goes TOTALLY DIGITAL!

Been a LOOOOONG time, again.  I really am going to keep up with this from now on.  I want to post twice a month at least.  Today, I want to announce that my Etsy shop...The Beaded Cat...will be offering all patterns as instant digital downloads!  I have been emailing some of the patterns, but as soon as I am done going through all the patterns, I'll have every pattern in every version: loom, peyote, two-drop peyote, sometimes even three- and four-drop.

I want to be sure every customer gets their pattern as fast as possible, and living in Hawaii, it's not always been possible.

It has begun!  Stayed tune for more!

Red Victorian Lady is back!!!

I'm blogging from my iPad...not a big fan of the Blogger app, but I don't want to drag my laptop out.
This is my Red Victorian Lady bead tapestry...I still have 250 rows to go...she's pretty hdifficult to work on...I am constantly adjusting the bead positions to make her look like I want her to.  And she's very wide.  I'd like to get her finished by late 2014.

My new weaving buddy!

Months ago I posted this picture:

This was my best bead weaving buddy.  His name was Boo Boo and he was a Oriental Shorthair, a cousin to the Siamese.  He was 13 yrs old in this picture.  Boo died of cancer about 18 months after this picture was taken.  Boo always raced me to my chair when I made time to do bead weaving.  It was like he read my mind and got to the chair before me.  While I did my bead weaving, he laid at my feet and purred.  I've missed him terribly since he died in early February 2011.  In mid-February,we adopted a 5yr old black cat from a rescue organization here on Oahu.  We named him Merlin and he's a very important part of our family now.  I moved my big 32" Mirrix loom from my craft room upstairs back downstairs to work on a couple of new projects.  Merlin likes the loom and it seems he's going to be my new bead weaving buddy.

Check back tomorrow for updates on the Red Victorian Lady, the Caesar's Forum and my two bead embroidery projects!
